ICE Funding Larger than Combined US Law Enforcement Budgets

🔹️ICE FY 2025 reconciliation funding alone is approximately $75 billion dollars.

▪️It's 6–7 times larger than NYPD’s entire annual budget

▪️Also greater than the entire FBI + DEA + ATF + U.S. Marshals combined, with tens of billions left over

Following the passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act in July 2025, ICE's funding has skyrocketed, making it the highest-funded law enforcement agency in the United States. 


Summary Fiscal Year 2025

~$10 billion — regular DHS/ICE annual appropriations

~$29–30 billion — enforcement & deportation (reconciliation package)

~$45 billion — detention capacity & facilities (reconciliation package)

~$75 billion total — multi-year ICE funding authorized in the reconciliation bill (“Big Beautiful Bill”)

❌ Failed: amendments to remove or significantly reduce the ~$75 B reconciliation funding

❌ Failed: proposals to defund ICE entirely


Summary Fiscal Year 2026

~$10–11 billion — House/Senate baseline ICE funding in DHS appropriations (under negotiation)

~$6.4 billion — enforcement & removal operations (House draft)

~$4.4–4.5 billion — custody/detention operations (House draft)

−$115 million — proposed cut to enforcement/removal line in negotiations

⏸️ Stopgap funding — short-term DHS extp hensions due to stalled final bill

❌ Failed: efforts to condition ICE funding on major reforms

❌ Failed/removed: DHS bill temporarily stripped from omnibus due to ICE dispute


It's as if Trump is trying to finance his own army. Should we be concerned about potential intimidation at the midterms?
